Steps to Fold Down Soft Top Jeep Wrangler
When it comes to lowering Jeep Wrangler soft top, there are different configurations to choose from. With the partially lower soft top, you can keep the rear window and quarter windows installed, the rear window and quarter windows removed, or the rear window installed and quarter windows removed. Removing Jeep Wrangler Soft Top Rear Window & Quarter Windows
- Remove the plastic retainers at the lower right and left corners of the rear window
- Hold the bar and rotate it outward and up to release the swing gate bar from its retainers
- Slide the swing gate bar to the left to remove it from the rear window
- Remove the plastic retainers from both quarter window pillars
Take the rear window, keep it level, and slide it to the left until it fully separates from its retainer Remove the quarter windows by reaching through the rear opening and pushing the bottom corner outward to release the tab from the bottom window pillar Undo the hook-and-loop fastener at the upper front corner of the window Remove the plastic retainer from along the bottom of the window, starting at the rear - Remove plastic retainers up the front of the window
- Once removed, slide the window toward the rear until it separates from its retainer
Partially Lowering Jeep Soft Top
- Follow the steps on how to remove windows if you want them removed
- To lower the soft top partially down (into the Sunrider position), fold both sun visors against the windshield
- Pull the handle downward on the soft top to release the header latches from the crossbar
- Lift the number 1 bow of the soft top on both sides
- Move to the side of the vehicle as you lower the soft top and use the side link to fold the soft top back into the Sunrider position
- Wrap the two hook-and-loop fastener straps around the linkage to secure it in place
Completely Lower Soft Top Jeep Wrangler
- Follow the steps on how to remove the rear & quarter windows
- Remove the hook-and-loop fastener straps (if your soft top was in the Sunrider position)
- Make your way to the back of the Wrangler and find the Sunrider latch beneath the number 6 bow on the driver's side
- Pull the latch downward and let the soft top slide toward the rear in the guide tracks until it reaches the stowed position
- Push down lightly on the soft top on each side
- Slide the lock levers on each side of the lift assist mechanisms into the "lock position"
- Push down again to make sure it is secure- you may hear a click when it's locked into place
- Wrap the two hook-and-loop fastener straps around the linage to secure the Jeep Wrangler soft top
