Steps on How to Remove Jeep Wrangler Hard Top: Front 2 Panels
- Open both the front doors and put the sun visors down to the point it touches the windshield
- Turn the L-shaped locks to unlock: 4 located on the front and rear center on the roof panel and 2 on the outboard side of the panel, above the shoulder belt
- Unlatch the header panel latch: located at the top of the windshield, above the sunshade
- Remove one panel at a time (driver side first) by pushing up: carefully remove it so it doesn't scratch
- Store the 2 panels in the storage bag that comes with your Jeep Wrangler and place them in the trunk or somewhere secure

- Open the trunk (swing gate) all the way and lift the rear window glass
- Take the #50 Torx head driver and ratchet, and remove the Torx head screw at the B-pillar near the top of each front door (this secures the Wrangler hard top in front)
- Using the same tool, remove the 6 (3 on each side) Torx head screws found inside the vehicle (these secure the Jeep Wrangler hard top to the vehicle)
- Once the screws are removed, on the left-rear inside corner you'll see the wiring harness. Disconnect the harness from the hard top by pushing the lock tab down then pushing upward and pulling down to disconnect
- You'll see the washer hose next to it, disconnect that by pushing the release button on the connecter and pulling down
- With the help of others, remove the Jeep Wrangler hard top. Carefully lift it up and carry it off. Place it on a soft surface and somewhere dry

How to remove Jeep Wrangler hard top?
- Turn all L-shaped locks to unlock on the two front panels and unlatch the header panel latch
- Once unlocked, remove each panel one at a time starting with drivers side
- Once panels are removed, open swing gate and lift rear window glass
- Take the #50 Torx head driver and ratchet, unscrew head screw at the B-pillar on each side
- Using the same tool, unscrew the 6 Torx screws (3 on each side) inside the vehicle that secures the top to the vehicle
- Located on the left-rear inside corner, disconnect the wiring harness by releasing the locking tab, pushing inward and pulling down to disconnect
- Disconnect the washer hose next to it by pushing the release button and pulling down
- Once all screws are out and items are disconnected, carefully (with the help of others) lift the Jeep Wrangler hard top piece up and place it down on a soft, dry, safe spot
